A CHRISTIAN REFLECTION

The Christian theology of the Cross reminds me of the Transfiguration when Christ showed his glory. How can that be in the Cross, and the crucifixion? The Chief element of the Mass is that in the Eucharist Jesus gives is Body to eat and Blood to Drink in a real spiritual way. It is through the communion we receive that we actually receive the spirit of God into our heart and soul. This is no ordinary life but the same divine life of God. And so in our own crosses of life, the abuse and despair of the Cross and the crucifixion of our spirits we in our emptiness of soul make room for the Eucharistic wound and the life of the Resurrection. We are transfigured by the glory of the God’s life and spirit.
